Welcome to CAPS in the Community (CAPS-C)
At Centers for Assessment and Psychosocial Services in the Community (CAPS-C), we provide telehealth-first psychosocial assessments, short-term crisis support, elder care guidance, EAP services, and referral coordination delivered by licensed professionals designed to connect individuals to the right level of care. We are a houston-based provider, however we also offer services throughout Texas.
Centers for Assessment and Psychosocial Services in the Community (CAPS-C) provides non-emergency services. If you are experiencing a medical or safety emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Clinical services provided by LMSWs are delivered under required professional supervision in accordance with Texas licensing regulations.

Elder Care Supports and Placement Guidance
A comprehensive psychosocial assessment, care planning, and referral guidance to help older adults and families navigate care options
Community Support Groups
Provides a safe and structured space for individuals facing similar life challenges to receive guidance, build coping skills, and experience supportive peer engagement.
Social Work Consultation and Services
Provides expert social work consultation and support to guide individuals, families, and organizations toward informed, compassionate, and effective care solutions.

Lamesha Carter, LCSW
Founder and Clinical Director
Lamesha is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is deeply passionate about helping people feel seen, supported, and empowered, especially during life’s most overwhelming moments. She brings both professional expertise and genuine compassion to her work, creating a space where individuals and families can navigate challenges with clarity and confidence.
Jolanna Watson-Brown, LCSW-S, CCM
Clinical Supervisor and Therapist
Jolanna is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Supervisor who provides therapy and clinical oversight to support compassionate, high-quality care. She brings a warm, collaborative approach and is committed to helping both clients and clinicians thrive through ethical, client-centered practice. She utilizes evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Care to help clients navigate emotional, behavioral, and life challenges.
PMHNP-BC
Psychiatric Services Provider
PMHNP is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with specialized training in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of mental health conditions across the lifespan. Their clinical practice includes comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, differential diagnosis, medication management, and ongoing treatment planning tailored to each client’s needs.

Psychosocial Support Services
Educational Diagnostic Services complement our psychosocial assessments by helping identify how emotional, behavioral, social, and learning factors interact to affect academic performance. This integrated approach allows families to receive coordinated recommendations that support both educational achievement and overall functioning across home, school, and community settings. Through integration of educational, behavioral, and mental health perspectives, this approach helps to ensure that recommendations and interventions are coordinated, comprehensive, and tailored to the unique needs of each child and family.
